Cari Smith is based in our Washington, D.C. office. As a Vice President, Cari serves as an experienced project manager and relationship manager across RCLCO's practice groups and has engaged with a wide array of private, public and institutional clients. Since joining the firm, she has engaged in a range of financial, economic, strategic, and market analyses across a variety of commercial product types, practice areas and geographic targets. Her expertise includes an emphasis on mixed-use and urban infill development strategy, large-scale land development and optimization, project- and portfolio-level financial analysis, corporate strategic planning for real estate firms, and developer/transaction services. Cari is particularly interested in helping RCLCO’s clients translate market feasibility solutions into implementable and financially sound development and investment strategies.
Prior to joining RCLCO, she served as a Sales and Trading Analyst at JP Morgan Chase in the Financial Analytics and Structured Transactions group, where she analyzed, priced, and reported on fixed income securities, primarily commercial and residential mortgage-backed securities. Cari also spent time at Houston, TX – based Cameron Management, where she performed commercial portfolio valuation and participated in the structuring of various debt and equity recapitalizations. Additionally, she has participated in various independent strategic consulting projects in Belgrade, Serbia; Washington, DC; and while studying at the University of Oxford, UK.
Cari earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and a Master of Business Administration Degree in Real Estate and Urban Analysis (MBA) from the George Washington University School of Business. Cari also currently serves as an Honors Program Adviser to University of Georgia Real Estate and Finance students and is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the DC chapter of the Building Industry Association.
