The last real estate cycle brought many changes, and developers are finding new ways to stay fresh, find inspiration, and meet customers’ different lifestyle needs. This panel will focus on getting behind the scenes of residential development to understand ideas involving the customer, availability of capital, cost, product innovation, integrating workforce/affordable housing, and the challenging process of entitlements and development. In an era of intense competition, we will examine how developers are using consumer research to create market-centered products that better resonate with customer lifestyles and help differentiate in a tough market. The panelists will also discuss the opportunities and challenges of funding or financing this product.
