In hiring its first global Head of Residential, the company needed someone with international real estate experience who could direct the large, high-performing team in executing the overall business strategy that he or she would refine. The hospitality operator specifically wanted to find someone from outside of the hospitality world. It was important to the company to hire a residential real estate developer who understood the needs of the company’s development partners in these future residential projects to make the partnership worth their while. This meant that RCLCO would need to identify and assess candidates who did not have parallel experience at a competitor but whose past roles and responsibilities could add up to success in this specific role.
Impact
Within the first month of our outreach, we identified the candidate who would ultimately be hired. He had led a company that developed hospitality and luxury branded resort residential across the globe on behalf of various hospitality brands. His deep understanding of commercial real estate, as well as his track record of leading a company’s strategy and the team below him, gave our client comfort that he could run this major business line. He started his role in early 2024, and the platform has grown considerably in this time, enabling the company to retain its spot as the leader in the luxury branded residential space worldwide.
